Crockpot Chinese Soup

Chinese Soup in the Crockpot

A lot of people associate crockpot cooking with soup because the long, slow cooking process enhances the flavor and the sealed container stops any of the flavor or moisture from escaping via steam. You can make any kind of soup in a crockpot (well apart from a chilled one) and Chinese soup is no exception. Choose from chicken, fish, beef, pork or vegetable soup, and pick out your favorite Chinese seasonings to add to it. You might like a classic dish like Chinese chicken soup, wonton soup or even something with noodles and veggies. The crockpot offers a great cooking method which will ensure the flavors are enhanced gently, and come out beautiful and impressive.

Slow Cooked Chinese Soup

You can make the soup from beginning to end in the crockpot, or make most of it in there and then add your starch or perhaps some wontons or meatballs. The slow cooking is ideal to bring out all the nuances of flavor, but if you are going to add something like wontons or seafood, that is perhaps better done after you have made the basic soup, and you can do that in another pot. Crockpot cooking is also ideal if you do not have a lot of time or do not want to stand over the stove stirring. You can prepare the soup in the morning, go to work, then come home to something which smells amazing and is all ready to be served. Crockpot cooking certainly has many advantages.
