Vegetable Chinese Soup

Chinese Soup with Vegetables

Try our Chinese yam soup with 2 types of yam, ginger, sesame, soy sauce and more, if you want something sweet, rich and satisfying, or how about a chicken and corn soup with plenty of corn? You could even swap the chicken broth for vegetable broth if you wanted to make this vegetarian. Vegetables are an integral part of Chinese cuisine, and many dishes are built around them, so it goes without saying there are lots of different Chinese soup recipes featuring various vegetables. While Western soups are often pureed to mix up all the ingredients and flavors, and offer a smooth texture, Chinese soups are usually not pureed, so you will be able to enjoy the different textures in there.

Different Vegetables to Include

Chinese vegetables can go into Chinese soup, of course, and you can consider water chestnuts, baby corn, Chinese cabbage, beansprouts, bok choy, and exotic mushrooms, and other veggies also have a place in there, so you can include vegetables like broccoli, carrots and more. A lot of vegetables mix and match well, so you might like to have some Chinese vegetables in there as well as some other ones. Making soup is also a good way to use up any veggies in the refrigerator past their prime. Whether you are using beef, chicken or another kind of stock, or keeping the whole dish vegetarian, there is no doubt Chinese vegetable soups are very tasty.
