Cream of Carrot

Such a Colorful, Appetizing Soup

Cream of carrot soup is a great one to choose if you want to present something as appetizing as it is delicious. The bright orange color of carrots makes them ideal as a main ingredient because the resulting soup is going to be vividly colored and therefore more appealing. Carrot does not have to be the main ingredient in soup. It can also be a backup flavor. Take our stewed creamy pea soup, for example, where the carrot flavor supports the flavor of the peas, and the creaminess ties everything together. If you prefer to showcase the carrot, you might prefer vibrant orange and carrot soup, or grilled carrot and pumpkin soup with herbs,

Creamy Carrot Soup Options

Creamy soups are often pureed because this mixes all the ingredients up well and gives a velvety texture, but you do not have to puree the soup if you prefer something with chunks. Cook the carrot to al dente if you prefer that texture. You might like to grill the carrot before making the soup, since that will add a nice smoky flavor, or you can cook them in oil or butter to caramelize them and get plenty of flavor out. There are plenty of options for making a tasty carrot soup. You can even make international style carrot soups, adding lentils, curry spices or anything else you fancy. Carrot goes well with flavors like orange, curry, cumin or tomatoes.
