Tempting Tomato Soup Recipes

There are so many ways to prepare tomatoes, and you can make something easy like a sliced tomato salad or even grill or roast your tomatoes and enjoy them as a side dish. Something else the humble tomato often finds itself in is, of course, soup. Tomato soup might featuring tomatoes with basil or another herb, cream or cheese, or even noodles or rice. There are chilled tomato soup recipes such as gazpacho, and hot, soothing, comfort food type recipes as well. Perhaps you remember your mother or grandmother making tomato soup when you were a child, and you want to know how to recreate this wonderful recipe for your own family. Canned tomato soup is bland but the homemade kind is fantastic.

Tomato soup is always special, no matter which recipe you pick out, but a few favorites would have to include tomato pumpkin soup with fried mozzarella, potato and tomato soup with meat, and French onion soup made with tomato juice. Any of these will be impressive or you might prefer one of our other recipes. You can use fresh or canned tomatoes for making such a soup, although most chefs would prefer fresh tomatoes because they offer a different flavor from the canned ones. The vivid red color of the finished soup will be attractive. Serve croutons, fresh herbs or your favorite garnishes with the soup and serve it in small portions as an appetizer or larger ones as a main dish.
