Give Turkey Soup a Try

Although possibly not as well-known as chicken soup, turkey soup is equally versatile. This type of poultry offers its own flavor, slightly different to that of chicken soup, and there are a number of varieties to try. Perhaps you have some turkey leftover from thanksgiving or maybe you picked up some fresh turkey from the store and are wondering what to do with it. Turkey soup is a great idea, no matter which variety you choose. You might like to make some turkey soup in the crockpot instead of on the stove, or you can make a more traditional recipe on the stove. Turkey can be cooked in the soup or you can add cooked turkey to the soup just before the end of cooking, just to let it warm through.

Types of Turkey Soup

Just like chicken soup, soup made with turkey can be as mild or as spicy as you wish. Turkey features in some Mexican recipes so you might like to add tomatoes, corn and other typical south of the border ingredients and make something spicy. Another idea is to add noodles and cream and make a comfort food style of soup, or you might wish to throw in all kinds of veggies to make a low calorie treat. Turkey has a different flavor than other kinds of poultry but it goes nicely with all kinds of other ingredients, so you can browse our turkey soup recipes and see which one you find the most appealing. Turkey soup makes a great dish for the whole family to enjoy.
