Broccoli Soup for Everyone

Your kids might turn their noses up at broccoli on the plate but nobody is going to refuse a second helping of delicious broccoli soup. There are plenty of variations to consider, both vegetarian and meaty, mild and spicy, with broccoli as a main ingredient or with various vegetables. Try adding cheese and potato for an all-round satisfying dish, grilled vegetables for a smoky, aromatic dish, or even potatoes and white beans for a rich and flavorful meal. Broccoli is a healthy vegetable, so basing your soup on it makes sense, and most of our broccoli soup recipes are surprisingly quick and easy, so you can make them in next to no time.

Types of Broccoli Soup

Broccoli and cauliflower are often paired in recipes but that is not the only combination you can come up with. Try adding other ingredients like tomatoes, mushrooms, corn, zucchini or even meat or fish. Broccoli goes well with so many other flavors. You might even like to add some spices such as curry powder and cumin to give a curried flavor, or you can add broccoli to Asian style soups, maybe also with corn and mushrooms, for an oriental treat. Broccoli soup is often pureed, giving it a nice green color, or else you can leave the broccoli in chunks and enjoy a textured soup instead.
